Why Do Some Stand Resolved In The Face Of Terror…And Others Fail?

New Book Delivers Lessons From History To A Post 9/11 World

By AMBER HILDEBRAND, June 2006

Knoxville, TN – In her new book, THE SPIRIT OF CHURCHILL [Avalon Press-June 2006], Deborah Brezina passionately recounts the life of Sir Winston Churchill and the world-changing contributions he made to the United States and to Britain in the most unstable of times.

Brezina's THE SPIRIT OF CHURCHILL is not just a biography but a history of World War II that is relevant to America’s current status within the Middle East.

“Many today are naïve about human nature, differences between good and evil, and the lessons of history. Many were so in Churchill’s day. Many today believe nothing is worth fighting for because terrorists can be appeased... The Free World has a choice to either learn or not learn from the lessons of history. Each choice comes with consequences. In the days and years to come, the world will choose the ‘spirit of Munich’ or the spirit of Churchill,” says Brezina.

This is a must-read for all aspiring leaders. This moving, historical account examines the principles used by Churchill to combat the evils of Nazism and applies those same principles to the War on Terror and radical Islam in a post 9/11 world.

While the book keeps one foot in history, it is written to inspire this nation’s youth with a portrait of a leader with unmatched conviction and courage.

As a teacher, Brezina strives to motivate with the heroic model of a man who never gave up, who stood alone for what he believed was right, and who saw only victory in the face of defeat. “If this generation follows the example of the life of Churchill, with his unbelievable highs and unbelievable lows, they can aspire to heights of historical greatness, too.”

Brezina’s enthusiasm for the subject matter is matched only by the ease and simplicity in which she has conveyed her knowledge.
